Haseltine Lake in Europe

We are an English-speaking European firm. We have two offices in the UK, one in Germany and one in the Netherlands. Although we process high volumes of national patent, trade mark and design applications in both the UK and Germany, our main focus of activity is in European patent work at the European Patent Office (EPO) and European Community trade mark and design work at the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM).

Each year, we are involved in the filing of more than 1,000 patent applications at the EPO and we deal with hundreds of responses and scores of oppositions. Last year we filed around 250 Community trade mark applications, and since the introduction of the new Community design in 2003, we are processing rapidly increasing volumes of design applications.

Our offices in Munich and The Hague are the key to our European identity. The Munich office is staffed by five dual-qualified European patent attorneys (one German Patentanwälte, three UK patent attorneys and one Italian patent attorney) and a full paralegal and administrative support team. The Hague office is staffed by two dual-qualified Dutch and European patent attorneys. The Munich and The Hague offices keep the Haseltine Lake network up to date with legal, administrative and procedural practices and developments at the EPO. In each city both offices are situated close to the EPO and is used by Haseltine Lake attorneys from all other offices and by their clients to prepare for hearings and oppositions at the EPO.
