In relation to IP protection, our clients think globally, and so do we.

Our clients don't just involve us in the protection of their IP in Europe. They may also want us to extend protection to North and South America, Australasia and Africa. It is not uncommon for our larger clients to have intellectual property rights in 40 or more jurisdictions around the world.

While we can't claim detailed knowledge of all international IP systems, we do monitor key IP developments and practices in countries that are of particular significance to our clients (and in particular in the USA and Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, India and China). In 2009 we opened a Representative Office in Guangzhou, China which provides a liaison and information resource within China for Haseltine Lake's clients throughout the world.

Internationally, we work through a network of high calibre attorneys, many of whom we have worked with over several decades. We keep in close contact with them, visiting them periodically to verify quality and maintain good communications. We have to be able to rely on them to deliver a service in their local area that matches the exacting standards and requirements of our clients. They in turn rely on us when their clients require a top quality service in Europe.
