We have 2 vacancies in our busy Bristol electronics team for part-qualified (EPA or CPA) attorneys with good basic drafting skills. There is an interesting and varied caseload with lots of original drafting for direct corporate clients. This creates the opportunity to take your patent drafting skills to the next level within a friendly and supportive training and development environment.
Our Bristol team has a very varied array of prominent domestic and international clients who demand a responsive high-quality service. Initially under supervision but then with increasing autonomy, you will be responsible for drafting, filing and prosecuting UK, PCT, European and overseas patent applications, and giving commercial validity and infringement advice. The emphasis will be on technical quality and exceptional client care. It is interesting and challenging work and your contribution to the success of the team will be respected and valued.
Candidates should posses a good first degree in Electronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and should be working towards the EPA or CPA finals with at least some already attained. Ideally you should have spent 2-3 years working in an IP team in industry or private practice with at least some experience of original drafting. Experience of software patenting would be an advantage.
Although we are mainly looking for part-qualified attorneys at this time, we are always keen to hear from qualified attorneys having the relevant background.
