Patent Attorney - Electronics - The Hague

Our office in The Hague opened in 2010 to service clients in The Netherlands, Belgium and Northern Germany, initially with a focus on Chemical and Life Science work. It is now winning work in other disciplines and needs an electronics practitioner to handle and to help develop its work in electronics and engineering technologies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a close-knit and proactive team that is expanding to meet the needs of its growing client base within the supportive framework of a major European IP firm. The candidate will work on an interesting and varied portfolio of clients from Dutch, Belgian and European start ups to mature businesses with global reach.

For an initial period of up to six months you will work at our office in Bristol, South West England, where our senior electronics practitioners will provide you with a structured programme of induction training and support. After that you will be given responsibility for work across a wide range of patent matters, including drafting, filing and prosecuting NL, European, PCT and overseas patent applications, and also oppositions, freedom to operate opinions and agreement and litigation work

Candidates must:

Have a degree in Physics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or similar from a top European University;
Be qualified or close to qualified as Dutch and/or Belgian, and European patent attorney;
Speak and write fluently in both Dutch and English; fluency in French would be beneficial;
Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and to exceptional standards of client care.

Salary will be in line with market rates (dependent on qualifications and experience) and earnings potential will be enhanced by a generous bonus scheme.
