Haseltine Lake showcases life science expertise at BioWales 2017

Haseltine Lake, exhibited at BioWales – the flagship life science conference in Wales – hosted at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, this week (7-8 March 2017).

Haseltine Lake has a team of expert patent attorneys who handle a wide variety of life science technologies, working with organisations ranging from start-ups to multi-national corporations and leading universities.

Exhibiting for the first time, Haseltine Lake’s Partners, Alex Rogers and Isobel Finnie, along with Associate, Catherine Williamson, were on the firm’s stand and discussed with delegates a variety of ways to use the patents systems to best advantage. Of particular interest this year was the introduction of the Unitary Patent, the Unitary Patent Court (UPC) proposed for the end of 2017 and the impact of those changes on patent portfolio management.

For 2017, the event focused on “Health and Wealth”, discussing the unique opportunities in Cell Therapy, Regenerative Medicine and Medical Technology, and how technology is empowering patients and professionals through better services and information on a global scale.

Returning for its 15th year, BioWales is the key event for the life sciences sector in Wales and is one of the UK’s leading life science conferences. The two-day conference brought together leading industry experts, life science investors and international networks, focusing on the interaction between business, academia and healthcare. Attendees from the 2017 event included global companies, innovative SMEs, NHS health boards, universities, international networks and business support organisations.
