Haseltine Lake leads European IP Seminar in Guangzhou

At the invitation of the Guangzhou City IP Bureau, a delegation from Haseltine Lake recently presented a seminar on European IP protection to around 180 invited guests from the Guangzhou business community including company representatives, local IP firms and government bodies such as the Guangzhou Customs Authority, Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court and the People's Procurate of Guangzhou City.
The seminar covered those aspects of Intellectual Property Protection which are of particular interest to Chinese businesses when protecting their IP in Europe. The main topics were:
• Brand protection
• Obtaining European Patents
• Software protection and
• Safeguarding goods at exhibitions in Europe.
Haseltine Lake’s delegation was lead by UK – based Patent Partner Phil Davies, supported by Netherlands-based Associate Partner Michiel Cramwinckel, UK-based Trade Mark Attorney Michael Conway and Haseltine Lake’s Chief Representative in China, Li Min.
Haseltine Lake has had a Representative Office in Guangzhou since 2008 and has developed a strong relationship with a number of clients and IP attorney firms throughout Guangdong Province which is a major centre for Intellectual Property activity in China.
