HL OPENS REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE IN CHINA

Haseltine Lake is pleased to announce the opening of our Representative Office in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, South China.
The Representative Office will provide a liaison and information resource within China for Hasletine Lake’s clients throughout the world.
On 21 November, Haseltine Lake hosted a ceremony to mark the opening of the Representative Office. Haseltine Lake hosts, Lesley Evans, Jim Sunderland, Steve Mohun, Bruno Weihs and Li Min welcomed guests to the office. The opening was celebrated by a champagne toast proposed by Jim Sunderland, followed by an Italian themed luncheon at a nearby hotel. Guests included Chinese patent and trade mark attorney firms, Chinese IP associations and bureaus, the British Consul and European Chamber of Commerce in China.
The new office marks a significant development in Haseltine Lake’s involvement with the Chinese Intellectual Property sector. This will be our first office outside Europe and will be a hub for developing relationships in all parts of China and throughout Asia.
For some years now, Haseltine Lake has been working with clients who require Intellectual Property Protection in China. On behalf of those clients we have built strong relationships with a number of Chinese Intellectual Property advisors and other IP related associations in key locations in China, and have gained an understanding of Chinese IP systems and the ways in which they are developing.
The opening of our Representative Office in China marks our commitment to our clients Intellectual Property matters in China. Our Chief Representative Li Min, who previously worked for Haseltine Lake in Europe, will provide a bridge across time zones and language barriers to ensure that our International clients and contacts can be guaranteed a prompt top quality liaison and information resource for all their Intellectual Property matters in China.
The Representative Office has a video conferencing facility, enabling our clients in Europe to be linked from any of the Haseltine Lake European offices to our meeting room in Guangzhou, where Li Min can facilitate a video conference with local Patent and Trademark attorneys.
