For his degree, Alan specialised in classical mechanics and theoretical physics including quantum mechanics, with a final year project in high-temperature superconductivity.

Alan joined Haseltine Lake in 2001 and became one of the company’s youngest ever qualified attorneys when he passed the 2004 UK qualifying examination. He qualified as a European patent attorney in 2005. He has experience of inventions in various fields, including telecommunications, microprocessors and computer software.

Alan has dealt with a wide range of clients, including universities, start-up companies and multinational corporations.
