Haseltine Lake around the world series 1

31 July 2015

As an international firm with offices across Europe and clients based all over the globe, our attorneys are often trekking around the world attending industry conferences, international events and meeting clients.

We recently attended the PraxisUnico conference – an annual event for professionals engaged in Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation (KEC). This year’s conference was the biggest ever, with nearly 400 delegates attending from over 160 organisations, representing 11 countries, all coming together in Dublin for a three day conference. The range of expert speakers and topics was truly impressive, covering matters such as crowd funding, dealing with the press, Intellectual Property, making revenue out of non-patented technologies and strategies for engaging with SMEs. In celebration of technology transfer, we were proud to sponsor the Conference’s gala drinks reception.

Following the highly successful first series of seminars on EPO Oppositions, we recently hosted our second series at the iconic Solvay Library in Brussels, Belgium. Our specialist oppositions team consisting of James Ward, David Lewin, David Hammond and Jim Sunderland hosted the seminar and welcomed in-house IP practitioners from across Europe. Towards the end of this month, Partners David Lewin and Frances Wilding visited some of our key clients in Japan. This proved a great opportunity for the Partners to catch up with clients face to face and discuss their IP challenges, as well as ensuring we remain at the forefront of both the IP and wider business landscape in Japan.
