Haseltine Lake staff lead the trail for Shaun in the City fundraising

13 July 2015

The Haseltine Lake team have undertaken a variety of baa-rilliant fundraising activities for Wallace & Gromit's Children's Charity.

We were proud to be a sponsor of the Shaun in the City London trail, which ran from 28th March to 31st May and featured 50 giant Shaun the Sheep sculptures decorated by celebrities and artists, grazing at iconic London locations, including Carnaby Street and St Paul’s Cathedral. Haseltine Lake sponsored “Robo Shaun” – was located outside the Royal Exchange.

In support of the sponsorship, some of the Haseltine Lake team, including Sophie Wood, Ros Rebello, Chris Hunt and Pamela Kalsi, recently completed a “trailathlon”, tracking down all the Shauns across London! In addition, we held a client event at the Royal Exchange, hosting more than 50 of Haseltine Lake’s London-based clients and industry associates. Attendees had the opportunity to meet Robo Shaun and experience a photo-montage of his evolution from initial design drawings to completed sculpture at the hands of Bristol artist Tim Sutcliffe.

To celebrate the Year of the Sheep, we held a Chinese New Year event in February, with Shaun the Sheep fundraising activities and games, and a traditional Chinese food buffet for staff.

The fundraising activities all form part of Haseltine Lake’s overall sponsorship of the London leg of Shaun in the City trail. The trail in Bristol is launching on 6 July and will feature 70 different Shaun sculptures. The Bristol trail runs until the 31 August.

Following both trails, all 120 Shauns will be sold at a public auction in October. The money raised from sales of the London trail sculptures will go towards Wallace & Gromit Children’s Charity, which supports sick children in hospitals throughout the UK.
