Haseltine Lake around the world series 13

01 December 2016

Although the Christmas break is fast approaching, the Haseltine Lake attorneys are showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to international travel, conferences and client visits!

To start the month off, David Hammond attended the Bio-Europe conference from 7th-9th November at the KoelnMesse centre in Cologne, Germany. With 3,692 attendees from companies spread over 63 countries, Bio-Europe encourages individuals with a life science background to showcase their brands, attend workshops run by key biotech and pharma leaders and to participate in one-on-one meetings and high calibre networking with likeminded individuals.

In mid-November David Rushton, Andrew Flaxman, Lisa Williams and Kim Bayliss all attended a seminar entitled “Useful Knowledge for the European Patent Attorney” which was organised by the European Patent Institute (EPI), at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Andrew Flaxman also travelled to Palo Alto, USA to attend the Managing Intellectual Property’s “European Patent Forum USA” conference, which attracts patent professionals from technology companies within the Silicon Valley area.

Frances Wilding, James Ward and David Lewin have recently returned from visiting clients and contacts in Tokyo, and the surrounding areas of Yokohama, Kawasaki and Saitama, Japan. Frances also attended a reception celebrating the creation of a new overarching patent attorney firm from many smaller firms.

And finally, in light of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) having been officially launched November 24th, Simon Rees attended a reception (in his capacity as President of FICPI-UK) at The College of Arms in London to mark the occasion. The Chartered status further strengthens the Institute’s longstanding reputation throughout the legal sector and enhances its role as the pre-eminent body for trade marks and designs in the UK.
