Haseltine Lake around the world series 7

25 January 2016

We’re all back to work and fully into the swing of things after the festive break, and we’re delighted to be working with our clients around the world again. Read what we’ve been up to this month, below…

Sandeep (Soni) Basra, German and European Patent Attorney, and David Brown, Partner, visited New Delhi, India for the GIPC. Now in its eighth year, GIPC is an annual meeting platform for Board-level IP managers, IP regulators and policy makers, as well as IP experts, litigators, investors and their advisers, designed to open up discussion about best practice and solutions to enhance IP management strategies.

At the end of this month, David Hammond and Lisa Williams (both Associates at Haseltine Lake) will be travelling to Scotland, UK to visit clients and attend a Scientific Burns Conference. Onorach are hosting the conference which will combine the cutting-edge science of today with Robert Burns’ revolutionary philosophies in a unique way. The evening will celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns in the context of the vibrant and innovative life sciences sector in Scotland.

You may already know that we’re sponsoring the FameLab regional heats again for the second consecutive year, (full story here) and on Wednesday 20 January, we were excited to attend the Bristol heats at At-Bristol. Three winners were announced from the Bristol heats, who were: Emma Liu – Exploding glass, Ian Hemming – Fat Mike and the extinct banana and Joel Ross – Reinforced concrete.

One of our trainees, Jack Whitfield, said, “The FameLab heats in Bristol were a great opportunity to learn about exciting aspects of science and engineering that you might not otherwise come across. The talks covered a wide range of topics, from evolution to the mathematics of knots, and each of the speakers showed a real passion for their respective subjects. A strict three-minute time limit for each talk was enforced, which often left you wanting more!”
