Haseltine Lake around the world series 9

13 June 2016

Well, it’s June and we’re half way through the year already! Our team of experts have been busy flying around the world visiting clients, attending conferences and hosting our very own events. Find out what we’ve been up to lately below…

In celebration of World IP Day, Lisa Williams, David Hammond and David O’Connell attended an event in Amsterdam as LES Benelux members – as professionals involved in the licensing and transfer of technology. This year, the LES Benelux members gathered to share knowledge, IP stories and drinks in an informal networking event. Delegates included LES members and other interested parties involved in the world of intellectual property. The event was hosted at the Skylounge at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam. A simultaneous event also happened in Brussels, on the same day, at Bird & Bird, 235 b 1 Avenue Louise.

Last month, Elizabeth Cooper-Rolfe and Andrew Sunderland attended the UK Science Park Association (UKSPA) conference at the Holywell Park Conference Centre, at Loughborough University’s Science and Enterprise Park (LUSEP). The conference gave the delegates the opportunity to find out more about the ambitious plans of LUSEP, as well as attend a variety of sessions including the national agenda for the science and innovation sector, and smart buildings and smart workplaces.

At the end of the month, Lisa Williams attended the “Actinspace event” as an IP coach at the European Space Agency – Business Incubation Center (ESA-BIC), Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Located in the Space Business Park near the European Space Research and Technology Centre, the largest ESA site and the scientific and technical heart of ESA, ESA BIC Noordwijk promoted the exchange of knowledge between advanced technology and space activities, as well the exchange of technology and expertise between space programmes and terrestrial applications.

This year’s International Trademark Association (INTA) conference held its largest Annual Meeting in its history in Orlando, Florida in May. More than 10,000 brand management, trademark and IP professionals attended from around the world, to attend exhibition booths, enjoy speed networking, training and talks from a host of experts from within the industry. Following the final committee meeting at the end of the conference, the 10,000 delegates exclusively visited Universal Studios in celebration of the event. Jane More O'Ferrall, Michael Conway, Daniel Chew, Martin Krause and Jonathan McCartney were pleased to attend the event, flying the Haseltine Lake flag.

Last but by no means least, this week Isobel Finnie, Magnus Johnston and Andrew Dowling are off to Stratford Upon Avon for the annual Praxis Unico conference, where we are pleased to be sponsoring the drinks reception. The theme for this year’s event is: Develop, Promote, Connect. Look out for next week’s blog to find out more about this important annual event we are proud to be a part of.
