Graduate recruitment opportunities at Haseltine Lake

09 October 2017

Each year Haseltine Lake runs a Graduate Recruitment scheme across its London, Bristol and Munich offices, and the firm is currently looking again for the next recruits to join us in September 2018.

For next year we are looking for graduates within the Engineering technologies, Electronics and Trade Marks to join our teams in London and Bristol.

We are an open collaborative firm looking for candidates with a strong science or engineering background educated to at least a 2:1, with great enthusiasm for all things science and technology, good communications skills, confidence and great attention to detail.

In return we offer an interesting, varied and rewarding career in a friendly working environment. We respect diversity and equal opportunities and believe in a healthy work-life balance. If you are interested in social activities then there is always something going on that you can join in whether that is a barbecue on the London office terrace or a ten pin bowling night out in Bristol.

We will provide you with a strong training experience, working closely with our senior attorneys to develop the core skills of a patent attorney. You will learn both on the job and alongside your peers in our ‘HL Academy’. HL Academy was established four years ago to provide support for the firm’s science and engineering graduates as they commenced their training to become qualified patent attorneys. To do so, they have to learn all about international intellectual property law and practice as well as acquire the skills necessary to advise clients on what can and can’t be patents. They also have to pass two sets of notoriously demanding intellectual property qualifying examinations.

One of our previous trainees, Nina Szamocki, said, “I started working as a Trainee in 2015 after having previously worked in Engineering consultancies and a management consultancy. I decided to move into the field of intellectual property to obtain a better work/life balance whilst doing an intellectually challenging and varied job. Two years into this career, I am very glad I made the change!”
