15 September 2016

Ms Ellie Li, Chief Representative of our Guangzhou office, was honoured to be invited to a business leader lunch with Baroness Neville-Rolfe, UK Minister of State for Energy and IP, in Shenzhen in August. The guests included senior officials from the UK Intellectual Property office (UKIPO), the British Embassy in China, the UK-China Business Council, and business leaders from British firms with a presence in China as well as representatives from the Energy and Intellectual Property sector. Baroness Neville-Rolfe commented that the cooperation between the UK and China in the IP and Energy sector was significant and she hoped that both countries continued to have more communication and cooperation in the field of IP, innovation and energy in the future. During the lunch the guests shared their experiences of Chinese IP and discussed how the respective governments can support both UK companies protecting their IP in China and Chinese companies protecting their IP in the UK, especially for the SMEs.
