Haseltine Lake continues to grow with two new appointments

11 December 2017

Haseltine Lake announces the appointment of Chris Morris as an Associate Partner, based in the Bristol office and Stuart Clarkson, a UK and European Patent Attorney, based in the firm’s London office.

Returning to Haseltine Lake this month, Chris Morris started his Intellectual Property (IP) career with the firm in 2002, following the completion of his Honours degree in Law at the University of Bristol. He qualified as a UK and European Trade Mark Attorney in 2009, and has spent recent years with a leading law firm, focusing on the wider IP market. He has particular experience in overcoming inherent restorability objections and has devised overall IP strategies for large businesses, along with worldwide brand protection and enforcement tactics.

Chris comments, “I am pleased to return to Haseltine Lake to develop my career in Intellectual Property. It’s an exciting chance for me to re-connect with my peers and clients, and take the firm forward with new business development opportunities.”

Also joining Haseltine Lake this month is Stuart Clarkson, UK and European Patent Attorney, based in the company’s London office. He is a specialist in Theoretical Physics following the completion of his Masters degree at Cambridge University. Stuart has experience working with Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. Robert Bosch GmbH and DeLaval. He joined a leading Intellectual Property law firm based in London, servicing a global client base, after graduating from Cambridge University, and is pleased to join Haseltine Lake this month.

Stuart says, “I am excited to join Haseltine Lake, representing clients before the EPO at oral proceedings, before the Examining Division, Opposition Division and the Board of Appeal. I was attracted to the firm by its global presence via their offices in Munich, China and the Netherlands. In addition to this, I like the interactive and enthusiastic approach to business development and marketing, as well as the range of clients and technologies that the firm handles.”

Lesley Evans, Chief Executive of Haseltine Lake, adds, “We warmly welcome our two new employees, who both add valuable experience and knowledge to our Trade Marks and Engineering teams respectively. We look forward to seeing them develop their specialisms at Haseltine Lake, and working closely with our forward-thinking clients to support their innovations.”

Haseltine Lake further strengthens this month, with the promotions of Soni Basra and Greg Ward to Senior Associates. Their promotions highlight the impressive growth and development at Haseltine Lake this year, with the firm now employing over 150 professionals, across its five European offices, including its newly-opened Glasgow office.
